Job Summary | The School of Access and Continuing Education department at the College of New Caledonia is looking for a part-time instructor to teach Essential Skills and Job Readiness course modules for the Professional Driver Training program. The purpose of these courses is to prepare students to write their Commercial Driver’s (class 1) knowledge exam and to secure employment as professional drivers upon successful completion of the program. We are looking for someone who can help us not only deliver the program but also help us advance the college’s strategic vision, which is (1) learning across a lifetime, (2) student success-focused education and training, (3) organizational strength and agility, and (4) community engagement and partnership. |
Skills & Qualifications | • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching employability skills programming • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching students with barriers to securing sustainable employment • Strong empathetic interpersonal, teamwork and leadership skills • Knowledge or experience related to the Commercial Truck Driving industry would be an asset • Knowledge and experience with our northern indigenous communities would be an asset • Previous teaching experience or a Provincial Instructor’s Diploma will be considered an asset • Ability to travel is an asset Hiring criteria shall include professional qualifications, professional experience, teaching experience, college contributions, community awareness and personal attributes so far as they are applicable to the job classification in question.
