Job Summary | The College of New Caledonia has a position for an instructor to teach in the Nursing Unit Assistant program. These positions are responsible for the delivery of courses, both theory and lab instruction and may include supervision and monitoring of students’ progression and evaluation while in their practicum. In addition, these positions may be responsible for arranging and organizing practicum placements. |
Skills & Qualifications | The successful candidate for this position will have the following qualifications and skills: Qualifications: • 5 years of experience as a Nursing Unit Assistant preferred • Nursing Unit Assistant certificate or relevant degree preferred • Previous teaching experience and/or a Provincial Instructor’s Diploma would be considered an asset Skills: • Enthusiastic energy and passion for the subject matter that translates into the classroom and the ability to maintain a positive learning environment; • Strong organization abilities and the ability to set priorities; • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and leadership skills; • Strong professional commitment; • An on-going interest in student success and lifelong learning; • Excellent communication skills; and • The ability to work collaboratively with educational partners. Hiring criteria shall include professional qualifications, professional experience and contributions, teaching experience, community awareness and personal attributes so far as they are applicable to the job classification in question. You will promote a positive work atmosphere and communicate in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues. You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners and communities. |
