Job Summary
This position will work in collaboration with several programs in School of Health Sciences (SoHS). Under the direction of the Dean and/or Associate Dean, this position will set annual priorities for meeting the various and emerging needs of School of Health Sciences. Time allotted per program will vary throughout the year and will be determined prior to the beginning of each semester.
Specific Duties
Primary Duties
• In consultation with faculty, prepare “set-up” as necessary for lab demonstrations or procedures to be practiced by students or for testing of students. In consultation with faculty utilizes timetables, course syllabi, and lab manuals to prepare, set out and cleanup teaching supplies and equipment as required by Health Science programs. 
• Maintains laboratory, equipment, instruments, laundry and work areas in a clean, workable and safe condition, including disposal and/or arranging for disposal of biohazardous waste.
• Assist with equipment repairs when necessary.
• Set up and maintain inventory control system and records for laboratory equipment and various learning supplies, and materials.
• Source and order various learning items not classified as equipment.
• Assess and identify the need for new equipment or capital supplies prior to yearly budget preparation each year, and submit business case(s) to the Associate Dean.
• Assist with procurement of capital supplies.

• Assist program instructors in quality control procedures and documentation as required for programs.
• Prepare and maintain procedure manuals, inventory logbooks and maintenance logs for instruments and equipment to meet Program Review and accreditation requirements.
• Maintain the quality of instructional collections.
• Monitor the equipment, prep and lab area for safety and general functioning. In coordination with the Associate Dean and program coordinator(s), request and arrange for repairs to the equipment as necessary. Assist in longer term shut downs of labs as required for the programs.
• In coordination with the Associate Dean and program coordinator(s), request and arrange preventive/regular maintenance to the equipment.
• Monitor WHMIS and biosafety compliance within the lab/work area including keeping an inventory of controlled products, maintaining the MSDS records, and ensuring containers of controlled products have correct WHMIS labelling
• Monitor and supervise students in daily quality control procedures of lab and for safety in the lab.
• Acquire quotes for equipment and service agreements. Submit requisitions for equipment and secure service agreement contracts.
• Distribution, maintenance and tracking of learning aids, loaned to students.
• Track monthly supply budget for assigned Health Science programs.
• Keep track of fees, refunds, paperwork for students’ supplies, learning aids and safety devices. Includes students that may return to the program if they exited early.
Additional Duties:
• Assist program coordinator(s) in organizing program information sessions for potential applicants.
• Assist program coordinator(s) in organizing student application procedures (i.e. schedule interviews, set up interview rooms and documentation).
• Assist with data entry related to clinical placement as necessary for the program(s).
• Collect fees from students for various required items; responsible for submitting fees to Financial Services.
• Manage radiation dosimeter distribution and collection. Communicate with the National Dosimetry Service. Ensure compliance with Radiation Safety procedures.
• Assist with invigilation of exams and surveys as needed.
• Set up and take down classroom for exams, including pre- and post- terms.
• Design, distribute and compile results for surveys in compliance with institutional, school, and program policies.
• Maintain visual displays in Health Sciences classrooms and labs
• Arrange printing of various manuals
• Responsible for compiling clinical materials for student practicums.
• Responsible for compiling and distributing minutes as necessary.
• Attend School of Health Sciences meetings as required.
• Ensure confidentiality of records and appropriate disposal as required.
• Assist with accreditation processes as required.

Skills & Qualifications
· Be a graduate of a 2 year or health related diploma program or equivalent
· Have a minimum of 3 years of related recent work experience in health sciences related fields. Demonstrated recent experience and aptitude in administrative/clerical duties.
· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Excel, Word, Excel and Power Point as well as Video-Conferencing (e.g. Zoom, and Teams).
· Knowledge of equipment, supplies and procedures used in radiography and nursing procedures.
· Have the ability to set priorities and work under pressure.
· Computer literacy and willingness to learn about and support new educational technologies.
· Demonstrated commitment to life long learning and evidence-based practice.
· Must have demonstrated initiative and organizational abilities, and work with minimal supervision.
· Excellent organizational, judgment, self initiating and problem-solving skills.
· Previous experience working effectively in a collaborative model within teams.
· Must have the ability to interact well with the faculty, students, other staff of the department and division as well as outside people and organizations.
· WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous goods certification or willingness to obtain.
· Good oral, written and electronic communications skills.
· Attention to detail and proper documentation.
· Mechanical aptitude related to minor equipment repair.
· Physical ability to complete the job.
