Job Summary
As part of the Office of the Vice President Academic, the Manager of Strategic Projects undertakes specific projects aimed at achieving goals set forth in the Strategic and Academic plans, as well as other College mandates. The Manager of Strategic Projects undertakes research, drafts reports, proposals, and agreements, and presents results to CNC leadership. The position is responsible for working with external partners in establishing relationships and communicating as necessary.

• Responsible for a variety of institutional initiatives commenced by the Office of the Vice President Academic.
• Initiatives may require leadership from the Manager, as well as extensive research, planning, reporting, collaboration and coordination.
• Works with College administrators and other staff to coordinate, support and advise on specific initiatives. This work is proactive and consultative in nature.
• Works with external partners as necessary to achieve the College’s goals.
• You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners.
• You will promote a positive work atmosphere by interacting and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.

Specific Duties
• Design and complete projects, including writing reports and proposals.
• Pro-actively communicate and consult with schools, programs, service areas, committees, government bodies, non-government agencies, school districts and other post-secondary institutions on matters related to project development and implementation.
• Engage in related research activities in order to garner data for project use.
• Analyze and summarize a wide variety of data to support project completion.
• Evaluate and write reports, grants, proposals and budget requests.
• Organize activities with external partners as is necessary to accomplish this consultation.
• Perform other related duties, as assigned by the Vice President Academic or Associate Vice President Academic.
Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required, preference given to a graduate degree.
• Minimum of three years’ relevant progressive experience in the post-secondary system.
• Project management training and experience required. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification an asset.
• Demonstrated competency in writing reports and proposals.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• High degree of competency with standard office applications.
• Ability to manage complex and shifting workloads.
• High degree of professionalism and precision.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with others.
